Peter van LISEBETTEN (Antwerp 1630 - 1678) "Equestrian portrait of William Duke of Newcastle" Original etching by a subject by Abraham de Diepembecke for the collection entitled "Methode et Invention Nouvelle de Dresser les Chevaux", forty-two tables with retouches engraved first published by Jacques van Meurs in Antwerp in 1658. Beautiful specimen printed on thin laid paper, complete with the imprint of the plate and with margins of different width, with the usual central vertical fold of binding and various other folds and defects at the edges partially restored but overall in good general condition. Bibliography: Hartan "The History of the Illustrated Book" London 1991 p. 130 and 131.
